Probably the best place to start is at the beginning, then, when you have decided which level is for you, scroll down to the appropriate link and read all about it. First and foremost, for all levels, you must be 21 years of age and have held a licence for three years. If you want to teach learners, you must also belong to - or you, yourself can be - a Driving Standards Agency "Approved Training Body" (ATB) An ATB is responsible for training motorcyclists up to and including the normal driving test standard, and will employ different levels of instructor. A DOWNTRAINED INSTRUCTOR:  is an instructor who can only teach CBT. Furthermore he can only work for the ATB who trained him. We, at Fast-Trak do not teach applicants to be Downtrained Instructors, unless they are to be working for us. A CARDINGTON INSTRUCTOR:  will have attended the DSA Testing Establishment in Cardington, Bedford, (hence the name) and will have been assessed, over a two day period, not only in his ability to teach CBT, but also in his ability to supervise other CBT instructors. All ATBs must have a Cardington Instructor. A DIRECT ACCESS INSTRUCTOR:  will already have qualified as a Cardington Instructor. He will then be assessed (again at Cardington) but this time over a half day, without the supervision element. A POST TEST INSTRUCTOR: does not need to be able to teach learners, and unless he qualifies separately, will not be able to. He does not need to belong to an ATB. He will specialise in teaching riders who already have a full licence. His skills will be of a more advanced nature than ATB instructors and he will be registered with the DSA as a Post Test Instructor. Many people call this the Advanced Instructor Course. A very high standard of personal riding is required to give this level of instruction. MOTORCYCLE TOUR GUIDE Do you want to take bikers on holiday around the United States? This course is suitable for resettlement training although is not covered by ELCAS. +++STOP PRESS+++ AUGUST 2010...A TREASURE HUNT CHALLENGE FOR CHILDREN'S HOSPICE "HOPE HOUSE" Well, we did it and what a week (and a bit) it was. Day one, two of our bikes crashed, first one ran out of road the second one ran over the first one. One knackered ankle, a broken collar bone and arm a later, and with one in hospital, we did the biggest hills Europe had to offer. The Harley with us, couldn't quite get up the Stelvio in one go, but apart from that we got there and back. Oh, and we had a serious domestic as one couple went as a couple and came back as two singles. Next year, also for Hope House, I have absolutely no idea where we will be going. But keep looking here and you might be the first to know.     TOURING OFFERS You might never have been away on your bike and believe a two week holiday is too much for your first attempt.
